Capitol Water Corporation has filed an application with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission with a proposal to increase rates by 6.004% for recovery of capital expenditures since January 1, 2024. Capitol Water has asked that the rate increase be spread evenly across all rate components. If the Commission approves the request in full, customer rates would be increased by 6.004%.
Flat-rate customers with a service line of ¾ inches, the majority of flat-rate customers, would increase by $2.05 per month for the months of May through September, and increase by $0.90 for all other months in the year. All other flat-rate customers with lines larger than ¾ inch would receive a corresponding increase in current rates of 6.004%. Metered customers will see an increase in the minimum charge of 6.004%, and an increase in the tiered commodity charges of 6.004%. Fireline customers will see an increase in the monthly charge of 6.004%. It will take several months for the Commission to accept, reject or modify this rate increase request. Capitol Water Corporation’s application for a rate increase is a proposal, subject to public review, and a Commission decision.
A copy of the application is available for public review at the offices of both the Commission and Capitol Water Corporation, and on the Commission’s website (www.puc.idaho.gov).
