Capitol Water Corporation filed an application for a general rate increase, on March 1st, 2024, with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. The Company has proposed that the additional revenue is to be added as a monthly service charge. This will help recover expenses related to infrastructure maintenance, meter reading, customer service, administrative costs and other fixed operational costs that do not very with usage levels. The fee rate applied for is $5.12 (five dollars and twelve cents) per month and will apply to all unmetered/metered residential and commercial customers and fire lines. If approved by the Commission, customers will see an increase in their monthly bill of $5.12 (five dollars and twelve cents) January through December (12 months) every year going forward. The service charge will appear on the monthly statements under Service Charge. The company has requested an effective date of April 1st, 2024. The application is subject to the approval of the Commission and is available for review at the Company's office at 2626 Eldorado St. in Boise and on the Commission's website at puc.idaho.gov. Customers may make written comments to the Commission regarding the application.
